Have you heard about Gandharvika?
sending her representatives to spread divine love all around the world
waiting around for Gurudeva, to jump on to the express train to Goloka
take us away from this mayic world
how could we stay away so long?
Gurudeva has come canvassing, to teach us how to search for Krsna
to go on even when ridiculed by many
leis of roses elegant like fine jewelry
gecko and I are off for another quick one to the highway where friends Mahamuni and the Kernel of divine love are waiting, As Gecko and I leave there is a guy with a high butterfly bar like I haven’t seen since days of my misspent youth. Around the snob hill there is a family on tandems out from the bay to steamer’s alley. The beach is full of sufferers on this hot day wanting to keep cool by staying in the cold water off the coast. The natasala is ready for the second show with people lining up, Gecko takes leave and I go through the treacherous triangle and on to the harbor where all the boats are out. Between the lakes are geese flapping their wings everybody is feeling the heat today. The pitch is on the right with a game going on and lots of drink besides. Under the first highway to the ratha-bhojana-vrksa where I meet the kalarupa and we gasp back for the sandhya. on arrival the butteracarya is pouring water over my head to keep me from melting in a pool of…
The thakuras are taking the advice of the name of the nightdress and going deep within the far off jungle tonight for dancing under the moon.
Coming in for darsana
Hoping to be seen by the thakuras merciful glance
Oh you living flower
Flower burst effulgence over head
Blue embroidered flowers trimming silken clothes called
“I’m a sumanas child”
magic leis by a special guest star
from flowers that had seen better days
magic makes them into lovely leis
Gecko and I are out to “ride it like we stole it” cause the heat is keeping folks from all persuasions inside. Sweat pours out like the tide. A quick mailing of pictures until the lion’s park comes up to the campa hatti hill. Left to the point of the hook where the cruisers are in charge. Beyond the natasala is Saint Dagwood’s park where the fixed gear freaks begin to appear. There’s a guy with his ride made up like a cat who is show some tricks on the bridge. Back up to the reviewing stand where the king has gone home for the weekend. The house that taught choc-o-lot to talk-a-lot has a lot full of people taking their products to chase away the heat. On the redone road there is a team passing under the porch of faces. The tennis park is on the right as I sprint for the campa hatti. Right there to hospital parking lot around to the feed place and our lady of perpetual motion. The rotha-bhojana-vrksa is calling me back and the kalarupa is waiting to take me to the sandhya for my strength is almost gone, melted into the heat. Still the kalarupa is able to get me to move just fast enough to cross the circle of wagons at the asrama drawn to keep us safe from anyone who might come to disturb our hermitage.
A hot day comes to an end as the Thakuras slip into their Hiranya kasipu nightdress to take some rest after a hot weekend and a busy festival schedule.
