One peacock feather hanging below one eye, his coat was purple velvet. Gandharvika and Mahaprabhu have pink with a touch of green. Giridhari's dhoti is a deeper shade of pink. White pearls on his coat. Mahaprabhu and Gandharvika have seed beads. With a discription like this alli can think of is "shut up kid"
Pedaling the route backwards today due to road construction. between the twin lakes by the movie theater then through the shopping precint. back to the asrama for the twilight arati. the longer days make for cooler evening rides
The effulgences from the day gave way to the ones for the night. Peacock feathers in three rows forming a circle around their heads. Giridhari has a bamboo flute with this dress.

Thursday, June 29, 2006

This is another dress where Gandharvika's slip is extra long. It's the shade of purple to make the skirt the proper length. The skirt ends with silver circles hanging. Giridhari's dress has the most purple in it, but still mostly green and silver. They wear it on Thursday rather than Friday because of that. So is it tomorrow? Or just another time?
Pedaling in just enough time today. The daily run from here to the town and back by the beach and the opal cliff. One of the most interesting sights today was a pedaler on a ride that looked as if it incorporated a rear triangle turned on it's back side so the front of the bike was about two feet higher than a normal one. Just what could be the use of such was more than i could see.
Darker green in this night dress and purple that is really the dominant color. Giridhari's dhoti, Gandharvika's veil as well as her front pleats and Mahaprabhu's chodder and sash. offered for Nrsingha Caturdasi a few years back, it's a lion on the chase.

Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Save your pink and green saris tailors, the posse rides again. Yeah the favorite colors of all practicing Hindus. Another one where Giridhari's chodder and skirt have hanging beads of pink and crystal reminiscent of a buckskin jacket, kind of like General Custer.
Destination, the swami's post. Then around by Lions Park up and over Snob hill on to the opal cliffs. past the beach and the sunny cove. Past a body shop advertising "fix the car you love or build the one you want"
Past a resturant a singing cowherd boy then back up the hills through tennis court park through some construction and back to the asrama.
O deer doe, have you seen Krsna? As the gopis past through the forest engaged in the search for Sri Krsna, they asked everyone they saw including deer, creepers, trees, flowers, the river Yamuna herself. This dress was offerd on Radhastami, whom Krsna went in search of when he saw that she had left the assembly of gopis when she felt herself being treated equally with the others.

A very beautiful deep blue sari for Gandharvika today. That's why it's called "Sue Nila Vasana" Mahaprabhu has mango and green chodder and sash. Giridhari wears yellow with purple chodder and belt. Gandharvika also had choker and earrings one of the devotees brought for her in Navadvipa. Giridhari's kick pleat stands really well in this outfit.
First time this season, i pedaled to the wharf. Lots of people there some just walking through others shop the rest watch the sea lions. The sea lions are large and loud they enjoy the attention. Then i went back along positively front street. The usual people near the bike shop and motorcycle place. By the harbor people suffer all day long waiting for the all night parties. Along the opal cliff with the joggers, lovers, and frisbees. The way to the asrama got clearer and clearer in town the fog was so thick that it almost seemed that rain was on the way.
The orange pannel skirt for Gandharvika this evening. Giridhari has a vest while Mahaprabhu has a small sash to go with his chodder, dhoti and kirta. Their earrings are custom made for this dress. Since it's a night dress there isn't any other jewelry. Even if they go out dancing they want to have a softer, simpler dress for the evening.

Monday, June 26, 2006

This was the first dress made in Vrndavana and assembled here. Cream and red. Since other groups spend much more money on dresses than this one there wasn't very much concern from the tailor. "You can't have it your way, till you spend lots of money" At least the dhotis were made the right way. The pedal garlands for today fit well and were well made enough that the pedals didn't fall out all over the altar.
A thicker fog today, at least in town. Near the asrama the sky was clear untill after sunset. i pedaled through a couple of teams out for training. They seemed to be pedaling harder than i. Since it's after labor day the beach is packed with people. Smells of barbeque whafting through the air so i felt the need to pedal by as fast as possible.
The greatful'dvip, the only night dress they wear on Monday. The next time the question comes up maybe i should see if there could be another one. It's still a fine dress though. But variety is the mother of satisfaction

Sunday, June 25, 2006

The installation anniversay day saw some one give the Deities some onyx necklaces. Since the onyx is black i hadn't found a day to offer them. But today the chance came. It is Bhaktivinoda Thakur and Gadadhara Pandit's disappearance day, the dark moon. That's a day when they wear the yellow and black. That made it a good day to offer the necklaces as a celebration of the day, besides it's a day when black necklaces are fitting anyway.
Yesterday it seemed that there were no pedalers on the road, today there were many. Some on bikes with moustace handlebars, others with priest bars. Some in the team colors others in plain clothes. As i went by the beach they were sufferers. By the bike shop they were team members by the mall they were errand runners. There were many pedalers out today, it made me sometimes think i'm dreaming.
In the ninth. Guru maharaja refined our conception so much that we now see the smaller peaks near Everest as much more prominent. That must mean that since comming this side we've learned that the nearer we get to Krsna, the more we see that our connection with devotees is all and all. By serving them, pleasing them taking their associaciton then we know that our way to Krsna is more and more firm.
"Well,i thought the garland was where you usually put Giridhari's" i told the garland maker when i opened the curtain and she said "Giridhari has Gandharvika's garland. But it looks so good on him." White, yellow and gold that is the color combination SGM asked for on his vyasa puja day. The garland in question has big red roses and such white other flowers along with some i don't know the names of. Gandharvika's has a similar host of flowers just shorter and without red roses. Sometimes despite our plans and thoughts, things change. Perhaps it's the will of Krsna, i don't know at my level if i can say that's what happend with these garlands but it's possible.
A very good day for pedaling but i only saw three or four other pedalers. Mostly i saw people on the beach. It did make for a quick run, not so much traffic to get caught in. Besides it was a Saturday so the traffic is a bit lighter on the count.
Putting the Deities to bed this evening was a most blessed event. Quiet and without too much to be destracted by.

Friday, June 23, 2006

It's easy to see that the Deities don't wear this outfit that often when so many people ask "when was this offered?" Of course the answer to that 64,000 lugloo question is Guru Maharaja's appearance day. Two shades of purple and pink. Mahaprabhu's vest, Giridhari's long skirt and Gandharvika's layered skirt combine to make this dress extrordinarily beautiful.
The fog was in today, to cool the pedaler's way. Almost overcast. Still the teams were training, the messengers were weaving in and out and some where i was part of the moszeic. The sufferers, joggers, power walkers and beach security. The bike shop wrenches bringing in their bikes from outside the shop at closing time. What a scene.
One of the night dresses they were each week. Something they must like about this one. Maybe it's just comfortable, well broken in. The small Deities didn't get this one . The big Deities'one is made from what was left of when the one it was originally changed into the most blessed event.

Thursday, June 22, 2006

To err is human and that makes room for Sri Guru. In a talk about Sri Guru and His Grace Srila Sridhara Maharaja said words to that effect. Today's dress was offered on his appearance day. The guru is descended from the higher world, an angel of mercy you might say, to find the lost servants of Mahaprabhu. So this dress is called follow the angels. Mahaprabhu and Gandharvika have green. Gandharvika has a yellow choli, Mahaprabhu has a similar shade of yellow chodder and sash. Giridhari's coat is yellow but has red/green thread running through it. That's not easily visible from very far away, but that's how it goes. His dhoti is yellow and he has a green belt.
Today seemed like it was family day for pedaling. i saw quite a few families mothers and fathers with two or three young children pedaling along laughing and have a great time. i must have seemed like a hardend hammerer to them as i spead by, but i'd never classify myself as one. i'd say i'm just a step removed from an errand pedaler.
This evening is a multi named outfit. Tonight i'll use the name Krsna is a brahmacari. Since Giridhari has all orange trimed with a purple cumberbund and chodder. The gopis once needed to cross the Yamuna and Krsna told them to say "Krsna is a brahmacari". When they did , the river parted and they were able to cross.

Wednesday, June 21, 2006

The gardenias are back. The center of today's garlands had them. The queen in days of old, the second ekadasi of each month sees that dress. She who made the jewelery for this outfit was here today to see them with it on. She has been away for about a year or more. When she saw it she was convinced that the Deities hadn't forgoten her.
Pedaling through the afternoon past the usual sufferers, geese and cyclists. Each one wearing their colors enjoying the longest day of the year. Both a celebration and a sad day. Sad because now the days will be shorter for the rest of the year.
Orange and green this evening. Giridhari's long coat doesn't flair or rise for anything. Gandharvika's sari also stays in line. Mahaprabhu's sheer chodder is narrow and also remains calm at his sides.

Tuesday, June 20, 2006

The mango for Mahaprabhu, sunshine yellow for Giridhari, and a shade of blue that Gandharvika chooses for herself. Even though this is a silver dress, Giridhari's coat has brown buttons. There wasn't jewelry made for this one but the things they already have seem to go well enough with it.
"Does this one seem more aggressive?" "yes, it seems to be a lot better" "It's so good you got a new one" That's the conversation with wrench went when i bought the new tires. It's good to have friends at the shop, it comes in handy. The normal pedaling today. The usual other pedalers were out today. Maybe since it's a week day the sufferers weren't out in such force today, or just that i was out in the cooler part of the day so folks were already back from their outside activities.
This evening i almost forgot to put on Giridhari's jewelry but as i started to comb his hair there came a reminder. "...matta smritir jnana apohanam ca" that verse ran through my mind as put the necklaces on him.

Monday, June 19, 2006

This dress is one of the best premade ones that has been bought. The crowns were put together by the seamstress too. Giridhari's has a line of peacock feathers but perhaps a second one would work well. Mahaprabhu and Gandharvika's though very well done might do well with effulgences. Sikhi pucca camara, a peacock fan. The feathers are prominent on this dress.
With new tires the pedaling went much smoother today. Several sufferers and such were pedaling with their gear in backpacks and the like. A pedaling kind of mecca so many pedalers out there each day.
Creamy orange, blue and "tie dye". Though it's the same each Monday, tonight Gandharvika has a new belt that one of the folks from San Diego sent up. "Something new each day"

Sunday, June 18, 2006

"The green, black and gold of this dress reminds of a box of fine chocolates" someone told me today. It is one of the most elegant dresses they have. There is a pannel of pleats in Gandharvika's sari and Giridhari's kirta that is silvery with gold designs woven in. The cuffs in Giridhari's pants have elastic. The only pair that does. It keeps them where they're put easier. Gandhavika's sari is made with light puffy ruffles that tapper up to her waist makes her look like a high class lady in the eighteenth century.
Today i pedaled off trying to decide if i should buy new tires. The ones i had were gettiing old and in need of replacing. Still i thought "maybe tomorrow" but no sooner had i thought that then the rear one went flat. i pulled into the nearest parking lot and fixed the flat. That made up my mind, i was to go to the bike shop at fast as my tires would carry me. The mechanic there knows me a little by now and said "You wear things out so fast."
The touch that kills. A rich creamy dress of red and white. Giridhari's chodder has accordian pleats that seem to go on for ever. Gandharvika has subtle wide pleats in her skrit.

Saturday, June 17, 2006

"What's the name of this outfit?" Someone asked me today. "Bengali Mahal Jadhu. That's Bengali Palace Magic." "How fun?!" With the watercolored silk lotus flowers and colors along with a few dragon flies. Mahaprabhu and Gandharvkika have blue with yellow accents while Giridhari has yellow and multicolored cuffs on his kirta and pants. Tulasi's light and airy skirt goes all the way to the floor.
Wow pedaling from asrama to asrama today. Going over the mountain it was so hot that i had to stop and catch my breath about four times and half of them i vomited. When i got over the mountain and into Saint Joeseph i had to stop at a grocery for some electrolites. That seemed to make me right better so i was able to complete the trip.
It was a miracle mom, that i was able to dress the Deities tonight. Someone asked me the difference between the day clothes and the night dresses. The seamstress decides, but as a rule of thumb, the night dresses are lighter, softer and have less jari, sequins, and little jewels than the day clothes.

Friday, June 16, 2006

Trock today. That means it is really in the classic mood of another society. Giridhari' skirt lifts high in the breeze and his chodder gently floats along. Gandharvika's veil is smaller than most since in that group it's not put on in a more traditional way. Mahaprabhu's outfit is universally pleasing. The first Janmastami dress and things have just kept on improving.
Pedaling toward the Aptos, then down to the shopper's corner round the block avoiding the CHP biker sporting an unusual Harley leather jacket. Back for the sandhya arati fashionably behind.
A peacock persuasion for this night dress complete with crowns with peacock feather effulgences.

Thursday, June 15, 2006

The older dresses somehow seem to go on easier. Mayur, the peacock outfit. They wore different crowns then they have in recent memory though. The peacock crowns with the effulgences. Those crowns weren't even made for our Deities. Somehow the people who ordered them never came for them. When a couple of people from here happened to be in that shop. They had the money to pay for the crowns in cash so the merchant said he'd sell them.
As i pedaled along today i saw another pedaler on a bicycle that he needed a step ladder to get up to the saddle. Usually a pedaler will kick their leg over the top tube to begin but this one had to climb a four step ladder. All the others today looked kind of ordinary after that. Even the sufferers that have those racks on their bikes to hold their boards didn't look quite as far out as this "monster" bike.
This night dress was put togethe at such a blistering pace it made the seamstress' four heads spin. Offered on Srila Prabhupada's vyasa puja, it has that society's classic flowing chodders and long coats. But Gandharvika has a sari which is unlike that society. 'Cause there Radharani's veil is put on in a unique manner reminiscent of a jet with swept back wings or something.

Wednesday, June 14, 2006

the white knight is talking backward today. Gandharvika's garland had gardenias in the center while Giridhari had a knee tickler. Mahaprabhu's was plain. Gandharvika has jewelry from an Indian devotee today. A small chocker with matching earrings and a bigger piece like a hara. Giridhari and Mahaprabhu have creamy white and a muted orange necklaces. Giridhari also has a pearl heart along with a longer strand of pearls. Mahaprabhu has beads made into the shape of flowers red and white with yellow centers.
Pedaling had to be quick today since arati was at six this evening. Dodging in and out of traffic and other pedalers. Even some juppies jogging. A couple had multipal kid strollers. A couple of kite fliers on the beach. There were three different pedalers who carried passengers in an unsafe manner, but they just laughed about it and tried to stay up.
The green and silver o deer doe this evening. Mahaprabhu's chodder had to be pulled back a bit since both he and Giridhari have skirts and long chodders. Otherwise the chodder would look like he also had a long skirt. Some how or other it all came together easily enough.
The red, "white", and blue today. At least that's what someone calls it. The "white" is really silver though. The garlands had flowers picked from the Deities own land. Those kind always look best to me. One of the devotees who recently returned from Navadvipa gave Gandharvika a nose ring which she wore for the first time today. A small silver stud that goes well with this dress.
Partly cloudy for pedaling today. As a fixed gear pedaler went by me he noticed my brooks saddle. "Ah, there's a guy who knows a good saddle!"He exclaimed. "When I had a B17 it was the most comfortable touring saddle in the world" "Yeah! i wouldn't trade it for anything, greatest one i've ever ridden", "Some say there isn't enough padding but it just isn't true" Later as i'd turned my face back toward the asrama i came upon a couple of the young folks from the temple. We greeted each other with gales of laughter and waves. Then the light changed and we went on our way.
The orange pannel skirt dress tonight. As i took the sila's skirts off i found a nose ring that i thought was long since lost. Wonderful when Krsna allows me to find something like that. Pralad a dad, offered for Nrsingha Caturdasi a few years ago. Made as a night dress since the lord appeared at dusk it was offered in the evening .

Monday, June 12, 2006

Though the seamstress put more notice to Giridhari's chodder in this dress and thus the name, Krsna's amazing technicolor dream chodder, his belt is more impressive to me. The small Krsna also has an impressive belt. Gandharvika has a light blue sari which features a large belt also. It may be a little to wide nevertheless it does look very good. It's the same shade as her sari with red stones and green seed beads forming eliptical shapes around the stones.
Still a little foggily overcast today. Since it's a weekday there were fewer pedalers out. The usual trace past sunny cove, the boats in the harbor, around the hairpin turn at the shopper's corner and back round to the asrama for the waking and evening festival in honor of a departed vaisnava.
The Monday night grateful dvip dress. i think Giridhari wears his chodder different every time he wears it. Srila Prabhupada used to say that Deity worship means something new every day.

Sunday, June 11, 2006

The full moon today. That means the Deities wear some kind of white. Used to be there was one dress for purnima. Now there are at least three. Today was the Superstar. Named be cause Mahaprabhu was given a bracelet with a star in the middle. This outfit was a Gaura Purnima offering so usually i take the name from what Mahaprabhu's dress inspires me. He has a turban in this set while Gandharvika and Giridhari wear their sivler crowns. Mahaprabhu's kirta is extremely long and he has a belt with mirror apliques to form the center. Giridhari has little pink rosebuds on his kirta and dancing skirt. Gandharvika has pink seedbeads hanging fron her choli like fringe. Also they are on the bottom of her skirt. SGM liked this outfit a lot one person told me.
An overcast, foggy day. Another good day for pedaling since the temperature was a little cooler. Still there were many people out. Some on tandems others with their children on attached wheels. A smaller number than usual of people training for the races. Even a few on the opal cliffs with suffering boards fixed on their frames. Everyone loves to pedal it seems.
In the ninth this evening. Krsna has a long coat that doesn't flow upward. His dhoti forms a kick pleat though. Gandhavika's sari is blue with a wide red-orange boarder. A set that might not make someone think of pajamas when they see it for the first time.

Saturday, June 10, 2006

Gandharivka has a burgandy sari today with a belt that has intricate beading. Earings and necklaces for each that match the colors of their clothes. Giridhari has yellow with red and blue beads. His necklace is almost a chocker, it goes down to his chest with large blue stones. Mahaprabhu has a deep blue outfit with blue and red stones in his necklace. Gandharvika's skirt is is bit short so there is an extra layer that comes under it to make it long enough.
Pedaling today at one light a fellow pedaler pulled up next to me and started talking about the crazy drivers out today. i had to agree i just saw one almost hit him and another turn directly in front of him. Wow. "But it's a great day for to be out. And this is just about perfect time, except for the drivers." i added that it was a good time siince the heat was over for the day making it easier to keep endurance up. The light changed and we went on. Pedalers are some of the friendliest folks i know.
The most blessed event still remains comming back to offer the evening arati and put the Deities to bed. This evening Mahaprabhu had green pants with a purple top, Giridhari has green dhoti, light purple top and green chodder along with purple sash. Gandharvika is in a deep blue sari with a red palo.

Friday, June 09, 2006

Three different crowns with this dress. Mahaprabhu has gold jari to go with his green kirta and dhoti. Giridhari has his peacock crown with the effulgence topping his purple coat and yellow dhoti. Gandharvika has a red silver-gold one that goes with her blue sari with silvery-gold designs. Orignally Gandharivka and Giridhari were one but then they separated for pastimes, now they have re-united in the form of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Yellow and blue combine as green.
A little quicker and a little farther today. Pedaling along with the commuter pedalers and those out doing errands at a leisurely pace. i pedaled along with or around in all the familiar places. There were a couple of basket people talking to themselves and no one in particular. They seemed to enjoy their conversations there just wasn't anyone else there to share them. The school at the top of the hill said that they were having graduations next week. After that there may be even more pedalers out there. Vacations bring out the best of them.
The peacock appliques on this outfit gave it it's first name, that is peacock blue persuasion. So this evening all the Deities wore matching crowns. They all have their peacock crowns with effulgences. Taking rest soon enough to get in some other activities to.

Thursday, June 08, 2006

"A field of lavender, that's what I think of when I see this outfit" That's what someone told me today when they saw the Deities. "It's because of the green and purple" Yeah, this was a Radhaastami offering a few years ago. When it was offered another pointed out to me that Gandharvika's skirt has bells on the bottom. Since earlier that same year the Gaura Purnima dress was called Saint Patrick's Easter comes fashionably late, it came together that Radhaastami was to be called "She'll be there with bells on." Gaura Purnima's arati had been between fifteen minutes and half an hour late but Radhaastami saw the arati to the minute.
A brisk pace this afternoon. Another three der full day made me want to pedal like my head was on fire and my tail was catching. So i rolled past the people, farms and fields with all the velocity i had at my command.
The day dress was green and purple while the night dress is purple with green. Gandharvika has a skirt that opens to show purple ruffles in the center. Giridhari has a long coat that flairs. Mahaprabhu has a green dhoti and kirta. His sash and chodder purple and gold paisley forms..

Wednesday, June 07, 2006

"you should call this dress 'Star spangeled cape'" the apprentice said this evening. Der Fledermaus mench. There are lots of stars on the cape and Giridhari's dhoti also has a row of them on his front pleat. Of course Gandharivka has three ruffles of blue red and green. Mahaprabhu's pants are orange his chodder is deep blue and his kirta is a collage of colors.
Pedaling along this afternoon i noticed my hydration pack was leaking. i tried to take a bottle cage off one bike and put it on another but the allen keys that i had at hand were too big. So may tomorrow i can find the right size. As i went by the geese at twin lakes i saw a bumper sticker that said "honk if you're a goose." Try as i might i couldn't get the geese to make any sound.
Orange and green this evening. The apprentice is always asking for this dress when the Deities choose to retire it.

Tuesday, June 06, 2006

The caped kirtaners. Mahaprabhu and Giridhari both wear capes today. Mahaprabhu's is blue with blue and red flowers while Giridhari's is yellow with flowers of the same blue and red. Gandharvika has a similar shade of blue as Mahaprabhu. She has a belt with flowers and ribbons that flow all the way down her skirt. She has on over skirt that has braid that opens to show the deeper blue underskirt. She also has flowers of blue red and yellow on the palo. "What is this one's name?" Some one asked. "Krsna's Guru, Nath! Or do you believe in rock and roll and can you teach me how to dance?" "I had to ask didn't I?" Well the name is because the blue is peacock blue and Krsna accepted the peacock as his spiritual master since the peacock taught him how to dance. Nath means dancing.
i pedaled to see a doctor today. One of the people here thought i needed to see him. He said i was in good shape. then i went in a loop around downtown back in the usual way. Past the bicycle trip and motorcycle shop. Through the harbor between the twin lakes past the sunny cove and the merry makers there. Next was along the beach where people were already getting wood together for bon fires a loop around the mall and health shop. Back to the asrama to put the Deities to bed.
And they wore the Lions Club dress tonight. Giridhari covered me as he often does when i dress him in this dress. That is i get him finished and then remember that he has jewelry for this dress. So i have to back track just before i lay them down.

Monday, June 05, 2006

Yellow and red with silver paislies. That's what Gandharvika and Giridhari wear in this dress. Mahaprabhu has mango with red. The jewelry made for this dress is a crystal with a brown-red. This color combination was suggested by one of the young devotees. So it's called out of the mouths of babes.
An early evening of pedaling this evening. That's one way to avoid most of the heat. Lots of pedalers out today as usual. Mostly the errand runners today. The teams are on their way to Los Angeles with the aids tour. i did the downtown loop today the shops still open with their merchandise on the sidewalk let me know there was still time to get back for arati.
blue, orange and they tie dye make the grateful 'dvipa dress. An early night. They seemed pleased that their clothes werer changed quickly and the lights put out early.

Sunday, June 04, 2006

The foam on ghee, that's how the seamstress described the color of this dress. It has a rich fabric and sheer chodders for Mahaprabhu and Giridhari. Mahaprabhu's sash is similarly wispy. Gandharivika's veil is chiffon like in it's texture. A fesitival for our eyes. The Deities appearing so wonderful to invite us to associate with them in an eternal service connection with Sri Guru and all his entourage.
"You still pedal on this hot day?" "How could i not?" Today was the aids ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The whole distance takes five days to pedal but they went through here today. So many interesting decorations on helmets, pedalers and bikes. One had a dragon on his helmet another had wings on his bike. Many jerseys with slogans and names of people for whom they were pedaling. Along Mission Street, through town and onto highway one and along the coast to Los Angeles.
Red and gold. Chinese silk this evening. Pleats all around for Gandharvika and Giridhari while Mahaprabhu has a plain and basic dhoti, chodder and kirta. Still that elegant feeling that leaves people asking in surprise, "That is a night dress?"

Saturday, June 03, 2006

"Have you seen the Deities today?" One person asked another, "They are so beautiful today!" They wore the Nadia Sasadhara today, the ganga yamuna, gold and silver. "The Deities here always look like the fourth of July. So oppulent'
Pedaling today to the natural bridges down by the bellvue to see some one's new house. At the clock tower there were some radicals advocating gay marriage with speeches bands and signs. Wow never a dull day pedaling here on the coast. What a day. Up the hill next to holy cross school and then the hoot back to the asrama.
The most blessed event is always being here to put the Deities in bed as that was the dress tonight. here i'll stop

Friday, June 02, 2006

Today the crowns and Gandharvika's veil came first and the outfit was designed around them. Purple, yellow and gold. A cape for Giridhari that features a necklace of long strands hanging over his chest for the clasp. The garlands had such fragrant roses that the people thought they must have been dashed with rose oil, but that's just how they are.
Perhaps a thousand times i've pedaled the same roads and trail in the same direction. The sufferers and the geese, the other pedalers and pedestrains all make each a new and exciting adventure. This one's was just the race against time. Getting the errands done, the distance pedaled, and back for the sandhya arati. The success is enough to keep pedaling ever fresh.
This evening's dress is the revision of the Gaura Purnima dress of a few years back that started off with the colors of a peacock and now is gold. One person suggested that it be called butter. Just shows that just like Krsna has different names by the ways his devotees see him, so his clothes can have many different names also

Thursday, June 01, 2006

Something from the oldest days, mixed with cloth that's new. It comes from Navadvip with crowns of peacock blue. Mahaprabhu's kita has a peacock from the oldest days. From a Gaura Purnima many years ago a healthful life as Caitanya taught.
As i pedaled by the natural bridge i some several suffers who road the waves with style and grace. Then i turned to face the way back the asrama where i had been before. To wake the Deities and offer the arati for ever more.
As i krept upstairs they might have thought i was taking rest but i peeked down and saw Vraja kissing Santa Claus. Haha the night dress to night reminded me of a sari i saw some one wearing once and that's how the dress got it's name.
Only the third time the Deities have worn this one. Pink and purple and various shades of each. Gandharvika has a skirt that has a veilance with a pleated underskirt and light and puffy overlayer that meets at her waist and leaves the pleats to show. Giridhari has a long coat with a cumberbund and deep purple chodder that flows. It makes them look as if they're swriling and dancing. Mahaprabhu has a vest along with a sash and same color chodder. Offered on Guru Maharaja's appearance day it's called "I was born at midnight and when I heard that Vrndavana is for shallow thinkers, I fell head over heals for Mahaprabhu".
Pedalers might not say where they're starting from and their destination is yet to come. Past the city college and through the state park beach to where the cement boat is. What a Tuesday afternoon, who could resist pedaling the time away?
The pale green and silver. For a Radhastami dress Gandharvika's is simply elegant. Mahaprabhu has a short kirta and skirt to go with his long chodder. Giridhari has a coat that comes down to his feet with a narrow chodder that flies in the breeze.
