pastimes so high
parrots come and land
on Mahaprabhu's hand
high talks mad talks
now how many incense sticks did i bring along?
a western devotee collected the parrots you see
seamstress put them together nothing can go wrong
magenta stock, white mums and roses
conquering noses
given by the campa hatti from his heart so free
cycle babble and i are coming from the foothills
to the sand of the whalers cove
it's still a little windy seems as if pedaling up the thrill
coming back down join with the toad and cruiser king
through treacherous triangle hearing the detailers sing
on schedule fir evening bells
while we bow ratha-bhojana-vrksa asks "isn't it swell?"
crossing the gate back to the ashram's land
was that the kernel of divine love or am i dead wrong?
bells at sunset are starting to ring
dressing for evening rest dance and song
i saw Vraja kissing santa clause
enjoying like anything a very just cause
a cloisonne heart
decorating Srimati Gandharvika
Mahaprabhu manifest from the temple within
leis of roses from round the neighborhood
swaying as they dance devotees speak of their glories as best they could
afternoon sun calling out for an adventure
spinning to the cement boat along the path steady and sure
thru "treasure island" on a forgotten thoroughfare
smiling and laughing floating on the spring air
ready for rest
Nrsimha caturdasi brings a new outfit "what is the name?" they want to hear more
why the answer is simple "positively May 24"
now that the Thakuras are awake
coming for darsana you take note of what they wear today
white with purple trim and green sequins
forming flowers on the chodders, skirt and turban
removing all every fear
rose leis arrive maker in good cheer
what a life our guru varga has given!
now the landmarks go by the point of the hook
the cove, natasala, and steamer's nook
racers, errand runners, messengers
and board carrying teenagers
folding our palms to ratha-bhojana-vrksa by and by
greeted by the cherubic one
in the evening hiranya kasipu
come see in the first light of dawn
Friday, May 24, 2013
once again's come the second ekadasi day
all the colors in the rainbow combine in such a pleasing way
abundant roses form the leis
a scene true and tried
spring days stretch out the ride
the cove, harbor, natasala through the park
were happy as a lark
round the bout up beach hill
sufferers put flowers at their thakura's feet hoping for a thrill
circling spinner's church in Bhakta Blade's hood
then hear the whalers sing as they should
ratha-bhojana-vrksa sees our folded palms
knows we're returning without qualms
vijaya greets us home
bells have called us back from where we roamed
brilliant as the midnight sun
Guru Maharaja appeared to take us higher miracle done
Mahaprabhu's bangle with center star to search the land
reclaiming as many servants as he can
today's pink and sliver will be known near and far
the bangle gives the name "superstar"
so many roses in each lei
april showers have brought this may
even though the hard wind is blowing
cycle babble and i find ourselves rolling
hook of the point watching the sufferers on the white caps
meanwhile we begin weaving through the gaps
between pick pockets. joggers and lovers
through the harbor, natasala round the corner cruiser king hovers
past marcedo de las pulgas to the southland
ratha-bhojana-vrksa sees us bow and smiles
we've begun the last miles
Mahamuni asks "what up?"
"bells" is the answer as he sips deathless nectar from his cup
slipping out of their day dress
is it tomorrow relives the stress
of this long day
come for morning bells and begin to play
Tuesday, May 21, 2013
come and see their gentle smile
take their darsana for a while
feel the devotional spark begin to smolder
the teal and the dark
colors of a team called sharks
among fishes I am the shark no one is bolder
leis of roses are the order of the day
magnifying the devotees love as they sway
as each day cycle babble and i
spin through the forest by and by
point of the hook on to the cove a short sprint as the crow flies
between the lakes to natasala beasts and pedestrians fuss
up from behind the toad joins us
such exalted association i take
sea lions are on their rock to bake
through treacherous triangle past marcedo de las pulgas on the right
cruiser king puts the hammer down so we take flight
ratha-bhojana-vrksa grins
as we bow and wonders who will win
over the gate it's Kumara to greet our team
bells send out their merciful beam
hiranya kasipu is the yellow nightdress
chasing away all stress
take care
anything you say
could put fodder in the air
when they ask the name on Gaura Purnima day
know the date it must be finished by
thakuras appear and spirits fly
leis of roses catch all the noses
taking care cycle babble and i go
about an afternoon adventure
bathed in the warmth of sufferer's spirits
and remembering the thakura's smile
five feet from the moon
the sidewalk musicians croon
natural bridge sees the tourists out to have a look
the cruisers king leads us to the point's hook
navigating the big street
through the beast fleet
ratha-bhojana-vrksa and we fold our palms
the wind has calmed
Mahamuni welcomes us for bells
soon the kirtan swells
in the chinese silk
smooth as milk
touch that kills
all that chills
our devotional spark
come to the sunrise bells on a lark
the good doctor
brings the medicine
that wipes out the disease and won't let it back again
red and teal with beads by hand
Mahaprabhu comes to save the land
fresh leis of roses in suspended animation
saves the nation by mass communication
even mukuts are sewn at home
seamstress and crew are in the zone
meanwhile cycle babble and i
are out under the hawk's protective eye
at the point sufferers are in their wet suits
complete with boots
we spin by watching the white caps
hearing the sea gulls flap
tennis park and the harbor
sees us fly through once more
round the corner cruiser king departs
and the journey home starts
Mahamuni waves us on
while ratha-bhojana-vrksa
likes our folded palms
kernel of divine love welcomes us with a smile
bells begin in a short while
synchronicity tonight for when they go out to play
the night before the ekadasi day
Saturday, May 18, 2013
Mahamuni standing at the curtain
checking his watch again
waiting for the appearance of Nrsimhadeva
devotees are singing das avatar stotram
he's one of the important ten
where's that pujari at? he asks
from behind that curtain comes a voice "he's asleep"
then the phoenix of a firey red on the new outfit appeared
with leis of roses and such
the ratna bahu form jeweled arms are shown
Bhakta Blade says their giving free tickets to a "gun show"
spinning through the jungle under the hawks gaze
from the cement boat where the sea gull begs
to the point of the hook seeing those on jogger legs
between the lakes past the tennis park
climbing to the pitch on a lark
ratha-bhojana-vrksa happily smiles
while we bow starting the last miles
sunset comes and the bells ring
while the devotees sing
swarga mega on this warm night
heavenly blue and white
pink and white with a touch of green
the shade of Srimati Gandharvika's nayana you've all seen
as they dance their leis sway
roses and sumanas flowers show their face today
with thoughts of the thakuras playing in our minds
we sprint through the town
the british taxi is there turn that frown
up side down
circling treasure island
watching as the sufferers come into the sand
the toad is along for the ride
ratha-bhojana-vrksa sees us fold our palms
knows we've been begging alms
the kernel of divine love welcomes us home
bells ring as the priest chants om
then as the day ends
the lord's mercy is extended
lotus nails orange and green
come for sunrise bells start the day by being seen
gold and blue with full rose leis
this darsana will chase illusion away
back up the hilly tract and the lover's lane
switching back tight
basking in the longer day light
still the bells ring
and the devotees still sing
vijaya sees us in
as the thakuras slip into the nightdress of a different color
marakatimani puri talking like a pirate
yellow chinese silk and olive green
red ribbon trimming the inverted pleats
the game played with Guru Maharaja's sutras
one spelled out 'die to live'
it got pushed together and pulled apart
to form 'diet olive'
we all laughed and i knew
the outfit's name had been chosen by sri guru
leis of magnificent roses color and shape just right
warm afternoon melting our minds into a glide
through the forest with critters by our side
on the wharf road past the skaters doing flips
weaving around the sufferers hearing their quips
brings a curl to our lips
people congregate in Saint Dagwood's park
throwing frisbees happy as a lark
back along the point of the hook
when who should our wandering eyes see
lets move in for a closer look
why it is it is his holiness Mahamuni
shouts of Gaura Premanandi
ratha-bhojana-vrksa horripilates
folding our palms but pushing on not to be late
the kernel of divine love greets us as bells begin
soon the evening dressing comes again
a lion on the chase purple and green
one of the combinations rarely seen
come along to sunrise bells
rescues us from the deep dark well
the pujari is at the curtain
watching how the steam comes from the devotees ears
got to wait for the teacher and his english class
the Thakuras are dressed
the purple and gold keeps all eyes fixed
so everyone hopes they appear quick
now if the teacher tells his class this is our Saint Patrick's day
even though Gaura Purnima blows that completely away
as the curtain opens all begin to swoon
you must know this was from Mahaprabhu's full moon
the leis are of roses and petals too
devotees say "very good" wouldn't you?
now in the afternoon go out and sprint
by the cove between the lakes the natasala near the shop's lug scent
picking up the cruiser king
hearing the whalers sing
each detail is right
we clear treacherous triangle our formation is tight
round the south land cross the light
ratha-bhojana-vrksa sees us bow and says "quite right"
Kumar is the greeter
and the candan is smelling sweeter
as bells are steady
deep within the far off jungle, the thakura's nightdress is ready
at sunrise bells through the smoke of incense
maya's cloud will be lifted no matter how dense
Monday, May 13, 2013
getting the cloth together
Janmastami is coming soon
pinky purple and yellow with mirrors may bring about a trance
with the leis swaying as they dance
a real smooth operator flowers in his hair
sprinting, spinning and hammering to the sufferer thakura
his flock is there for sure
zinc on their noses and charcoal under their eyes
keeping off the sunlight as is pours from the sky
sea lions are congregating out on their rock
that isn't such a shock
pointing the way back
ratha-bhojana-vrksa keeps us on track
thakura's nap is finished
they rise refreshed
Mahamuni is ready for evening bells
black and brown nightdress with red phoenix trim
see it at sunrise bells then begin again
"make the dress for my birthday white and gold"
gurudeva expressed desire and it soon took hold
turban and cape with rhinestone mukuts air was full of the name of Hari
now the mukuts have become gold jari
leis of roses it's their season
made quickly so they are pleasing
spinning through the southland and parking lot
lion's park, skater's hill where tricks performed shows what is skill and what is not
round the corner with cruiser king
hearing the whalers sing
round the hospital and marcedo de las pulgas
bow to ratha-bhojana-vrksa and know the he will bless
bells sound throughout the valley
in the evening hiranya kasipu they were tired and didn't dally
come and see at sunrise bells
devotees will sing and it will rattle in the dell
Gaura Purnima brings a whole lot of new things
some are kind of wild
puspa mukuts and effulgence bring back the flower child
brilliant yellow with blue chodders and cuffs
assorted flowers in the leis we grow our own and today there are enough
short way to the bridge five feet from the moon
arriving just a little after noon
long way back between the lakes
the cove to the opals for goodness sake
back to navapatra and under first highway to the long and winding
where ratha-bhojana-vrksa smiles to see our folded palms
under the red wing blackbirds the trees and fragrance minding
vijaya is getting a bath from the poison oak
by now it's bells and in the ninth as it was spoke
come to the morning bells and see how it's true
Friday, May 10, 2013
to draw everyone to a higher consciousness
the thakuras appear in this forest green trimmed in black dress
with some flashy silver panels in the sari and chodders
the chodders have black crystal beads
that knock together and sound like the holy name
leis of roses red and pink gifts again
sprinting is good beneath this spring day sky
above our heads the gulls and guests fly
knocking out the cobwebs from our minds
among the team and messengers we give it a try
giving chase up beach hill
keep up with them is a real thrill
the voice says "come on back"
wake the thakuras from their nap
ratha-bhojana-vrksa smiles on our pace line
Mahamuni back from the game
beams as the ceremony starts 'ratri kalina' is it's name
it's a miracle mom
this nightdress didn't take so long
ready in an instant for vyasa pug day
'O Giridhari' was all the folks could say
Thursday, May 09, 2013
circumambulating the natha mandir
waiting for thakuras to appear
eager to see what clothes they been changed into
Mahaprabhu wears a vest in this white with pink diamond dress
Srimati Gandharvika has an effulgence that cannot but impress
Giridhari's meticulous turban with it's many peacock feathers and strands of jewels
sits like a crown upon his head showing how he rules
full rose leis with star gazer centers are more splendid by thakura's touch
lets all leave other sights as if they aren't that much
spinning away from the ashram on the breeze of the afternoon
coming to the point of the hook in what seems like extra soon
the cove comes up leading between the lakes
to the harbor and natasala round the corner with cruiser king in a couple of shakes
park place has it's kaviraja and airwaves
while in the street dancers swirl while onlookers all rave
atop the skater's hill the guys perform complex tricks
accompanied by a ghetto blaster pumping out hip hop licks
navapatra with the pitch on the right
means soon respects to ratha-bhojana-vrksa and end of this flight
Mahamuni welcomes us home and the bells ring along
light green purple trimmed in silver is the outfit for tonight
cme to sunrise bells and the whole day will become bright

thakura's darsan flows in these foothills
inviting all souls to come and take their fill
Mahaprabhu in mango, Giridhari yellow, Srimati Gandharvika panels of blue
silvery flower embroidery all round even effulgence come into view
each leis is made of roses given freely
careful planing in the making
spinning quickly overcast day special mission
to get some fixins
cyclists out there's one dressed like a pirate
want to laugh but try to hide it
switchbacks are tight on the back street
cruiser king shows us how to make them neat
keep your knees and elbows tucked in
make your back straight then you can begin
ratha-bhojana-vrksa likes our folded palms
so we speed past without qualms
Mahamuni checks his watch
while we exclaim 'dandavat'
bells are ringing
devotees singing
the lion is laughing this evening
deep blue nightdress
trimmed with yellow that reveals their forms
like lightening
some thought the demon father would destroy his devotee son
but his unshakable devotion caused the Lord to come
so in the cream and light blue colors the seamstress hid some parrots
covered also by the rose leis neat and trimmed with attention
with this darsana every eye was purified while the devotees sweetly sand the holy name
and with their gentle smiles they invite each one to join them
in their eternal serving mode
in the afternoon cycle babble and i spin throughout the jungle following a team
their pace gets us to follow to where the point of the hook meets the sea
the lycra wearing cyclists sprint laughing through the sufferers
eager to merge with the deep blue waters and worship
in the crystal cathedral of the waves
between the lakes we wander over the harbor to the round about
spinning past their sufferer thakura hearing those already on the water shout
soon cycle babble knows he must return for he has consuming service
to wake the Lord and take him from his bed
today it's hada madrina who welcomes us back home
ratha-bhojana-vrksa is laughing with his leaves
as the bells begin to ring
the incense is smelling sweetly catching people by their noses
and showing the path home
in evening the orange nightdress
known as Prahlad-a-dad lets them dance
come to sunrise bells and spend the day in this happy trance
Monday, May 06, 2013
blocks of butter on the flame
rust even a bit of avocado makes the game
golden color like foam on ghee
rose leis threederful to see
swaying as they dance with ease
spinning through the woods spring aromas
getting out to clean the cobwebs from our brains
thru lion's park and the village by the train
the hook of the point leads till we hear the voice of the track
it says we should be coming back
let ratha-bhojana-vrksa know
we come to fold our palms and go
where Kumara meets us
bells go on without fuss
come for darsana of hiranya kasipu at sunrise bells
that way all the day will flow extremely well
ekadasi has come again put all to the test
as the sun travels from east to the west
seamstress says take care the sari is full
and doesn't rise or fall remaining furled
rose leis are artistically done
as they pirouette they sway in fun
catching the light they gleam
with the strong breeze today it feels as if we'll be knocked off
our chariots of two wheels
still many are out celebrating bike month
coming within five feet from the moon
the team is on track
not caring if we tag along
so we take their back
there is a bug with haukuel'a mi'
bent in three places someone calls our name
bells are quiet but soon ring
in the evening the touch that kills
shows itself and at morning bells everyone will be thrIlled
Saturday, May 04, 2013
surely all good people offer their heads at the lord's feet each day
and become satisfied in this simple way
following the angels and making themselves a new and transcendental life
darsana of this green and yellow cuts the fear of our worried minds like a knife
remember all the flowers are for the leis
for all the devotees to use
arranging them in any pattern that they want
remembering this cycle babble and i are spinning on the street
hearing the screech owls, humming birds and robins tweet
blowing the cobwebs out of our brains
all the way to the point of the hook where it's high tide again
round about with the team ahead natural bridge and the pier
circle the spinner's church dandavat to Bhakta Blade at his kutir
round the corner cruiser king takes his leave
then there's the marcedo de las pulgas i believe
ratha-bhojana-vrksa sees our hands folded
a smile on his face molded
it's hada madrina who pulls us in
let the bells begin
in the evening the lotus nails
the nightdress again no signs of being old and frail
just about midnight came the lord's emissary
to give everyone a chance
to make connection with his merciful glance
the shades of purple reminiscent of that night
hail the beacon light
hammering cause it's a quick one
to the lion's park then up the village to the see the bear
stop and give him some gentle care
tracing the shape of the cove on between the lakes
over the harbor to the natasala and the shop
round the corner passing the officer's shrine
thru treacherous triangle while the sun still shines
ratha-bhojana-vrksa treats us as he should
we bow our heads and he blesses us as only he could
a boy the color of a fresh raincloud waits at the door
celebrating bells are devotees by the score
this evening they are "deep within the far off jungle"
now devotees are set for sleep
praying the lord their souls will keep
so in the morning when they wake
sunrise bells will bless everyone with no mistake
