Seamstress took some silken cloth and made a janmastami outfit
Orange, deep blue appliqué on the swinging dancing chodder
Don’t it always amaze how the seamstress’
Cleverness never reaches a limit
Taking the cloth and making a new outfit
Taking beads and jewels arranging with freedom
Anticipating when the curtain will open so everyone can see ‘em
One day sitting with his friends
Giridhari told of his fun
last night with everyone
And drew some dolphins water sports
Leis of leaves, roses and sumanas flowers of sorts
Don’t it always amaze how the seamtress’
Cleverness never reaches a limit
Taking all varieties of cloth to make a new outfit
Murkha and I are on the run
Little time to get the errands done
First there’s always the talk with friends
Then navapatra has the parama anna fixins
On the pitch kids are learning
Coming to the corner Murkha and I are turning
To go under the first highway following a pair
Of single speed freaks coming to the campa hatti there
The RBV calls out for calm
And Murkha answers with folded palms
The kalarupa shows the way to sandhya
But Murkha gets there first what a wonder
Vijaya welcomes him
And the ceremony begins
The thakuras then get into their nightdress
“O deer dough have you seen Krsna?” nice and pressed
enjoying all night long
aligning themselves with the flute’s song
