The Deity's curtain opened
While the pujari offered the flame
The sankirtan began dancing and
Taking the name, chanting the name
Leis that nearly sparkled
Made with tenderness
With pink lilies, spider mums and dahlias
Following the bends of their forms
Murkha and I are spinning
Ploting the route to take
Circling the research park
Over the first highway
Chasing racers but missing
When they run the light
Coming on a line of cruisers
Dipping and weaving
Through their laid back chatter
Contrasting my and Murkha's madness
Blue whales swaying in the breeze at
Seymour's museum
sun keeps moving across the afternoon sky
past Bhakta Blade's kutir
down beach hill
at the shop I depart
as Murkha heeds ratha-bhojana-vrksa's call
The Deity's curtain will open
For the mangala arati
And pujari will offer the flame
To join in the worship and enter the world
That never dies
“in the ninth” nightdress reflecting in their eyes
tailor called the seamstress on the phone
and his words made her groan
your pattern must change
otherwise you'll be waiting so very long
you'd best come here and see
your visit is near it's end
and I know you just don't have the time
you don't want to waste it
and not be able to take it home
spider mums and rose leis
will always look so good
if you understand
you can't have it your way
sprinting to the thoroughfare
Murkha and I see a couple on tandem stare
meeting friends a quick talk
then it's time to check the post box
skaters are out under their wool hats
no doubt about it they're cvillage phats
a team of roadies turn their heads up
to avoid the question “'sup?”
between the lakes the geese honk
driftwood piles for when the sufferers bonk
parting at the shop the usual place
the treacherous triangle leads Murkha to base
bowing to the ratha-bhojana-vrksa
kalarupa follows him to get some siksa
cottontails welcome him in
then the sandhya begins
midnight blue laughing lion with lemon yellow
offered the disappearance of an awful fellow
sunburst effulgi and puspa boarder
their lion charms laughed from higher quarter
