Well this all started in about nineteen ninety-six when Sri Guru-Gauranga Gandharvika-Giridhari appeared. The outfits needed to be identified somehow. The seamstress wanted to call them things like “Radhastami or Janmastami” or “vyasa puja” or something like that. But that wasn't interesting enough for me. Besides after a while all the names would become just numbers like 96 or 97 or whatever year they were offered. I couldn't see any since or fun in this so I went over to the seamstress and I said “I can't tell the outfits apart with names like that. You didn't name your child 'November 1, 1981' did you?” She said “Shut up kid!!!” she tries so hard not to do things like that.
The leis are a little different than the maker might have thought. “I didn't estimate the flowers right and so the leaf one is short the other two are really long. Did you give the leaf one to Gandharvika?” she asked “No” I answered. “Her leis needs to be a little longer since it's all in front. Mahaprabhu and Giirdhari can have space behind their necks if really necessary but not Gandharvika.
The gecko and I take off passing the ratha-bhojana-vrksa with a bow of our heads on to the southland we went. Around there to the main road and on to Mahamuni's post box. We go to the lion's park after that and then the campa hatti. From there it's the east cliffs and pointing to the hook between the lakes. The tennis park is there on the right where we turn to the left to get to the natasala and his shop. I take leave there and he goes to the shop while I pass the house that taught choc-o-lot to talk-a-lot. Next is the peddler's ramp and over the creek to the bear. He looks hungry but it'll be tomorrow before I can feed him. At the wharf road I take a left and merge into the main street. The long and winding is on my right and I go to the ratha-bhojana-vrksa to meet the kalarupa and have him follow me to the sandhya which begins with the blowing of the sank.
“Tell us if you have seen Krsna, O deer dough!” the best devotees once asked everyone high and low. This evening this Radhastami dress is the night dress. Silver and mint green with some light jewelry to go along they dance all night without care.
