Sunday, October 14th
What is the name of this one? One of the folks asked today. "Well there are a couple of names. First off since all the flowers in the boarder, crowns and effulgi and in Caitanya Caritamrta Kaviraja Goswami says "if one offers a sumanas flower at the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu his material life will end" and since in the days of my misspent youth i was a "sumanas child" that's the name of this one. Then the back drop reminds of one that there was on thirteenth street. That was made from what was called "New York fabric" so the alternate name is "New York a go-go and everything tastes nice" The yellow must give it away as a Gaura Purnima offering, huh?
All along the old highway today the Giant kept the view while all the car guys came and went. Over the mountain where the trees keep watch. Quite a climb and then decent into the main highway. Going up there is a camp ground for adventists that is vacant most of the year and is now too. Then a farm where the folks used to by raw milk but the cows up and died and after so many years they've not been replaced. As the mountain gets steeper there are seemingly just trees on either side though there must be some houses somewhere. As a reminder that the last couple of miles are coming there's a sign that cautions that log trucks drive along the road. Then on to the summit road. The last three hills to climb. The saints of the latter days are on the right. Then the decent begins for real on the old highway things go by fast and all i've ever seen of Holy City is a glass blowing shop. Next comes a trail that goes beside but a little below the highway. Then it's into the park and to the storied lake where the folks are having a party for a newly married couple.
Back at the ranch, the ninth is the night dress and there is a light shower falling as the Deities take their evening rest and go on in their pastimes.
