During the Sandhya arati i could see the cameras flash. The lime green and silver had the folks bringing out their cameras. The garlands had lots of roses and wild flowers. Gandharvika's was in the shape of a heart which is a real crowd pleaser always. Giridhari and Mahaprabhu's both went to their knees. Giridhari's flowed with the curve of his body it had the look of motion.
As i pedaled past the harbor high school football field i saw two pedalers with trailors on their bikes comparing notes. "Look at how these colors match up....." i heard one telling the other. Otherwise the roads were pretty quiet again today. The geese were back at the twin lakes along with the people on the beach. round by the suffer's shops and back up to the asrama
The touch that kills, this evening. After the flowers were all put away the floor cleaned, the Deities were ready for their evening rest in the soft chinese silk
"I found a honeysuckle tree! I never knew they had trees, I've seen bushes, but a tree? Wow!" That's what the garland maker told me today. The honeysuckles are so big they look like they've been given some super plant food. The golden petal dress today. "How could flowers not go with this outfit?" The garland maker asked. That's right i thought. So many colors in the flowers embroidered on that most any garland would look perfect with it.
Today went to the the corner and along the coast to see the sufferers changing clothes by their cars. The also speak to the security guards while they get into or out of their wet suits. The ducks and geese have pulled back off the road today. Lots of people to be seen while pedaling near the water. That left the roads empty and easier to pedal on.
Purple, green, and fuscia all the colors of the usual evening dress. Giridhari and Gandharvika must have been going out tonight since they stayed up a little late. hmmmmmm.

Saitn Patrick's easter comes fashionably late. But the gardenias came right on time. The garlands are full of them today. Yellow and purple picked to match some crowns that were bought in Vrndavana. The colors worked out almost perfectly. After a few Gaura Purnimas the dress goes on quickly and without to much fuss.
Pedal two times it'll be alright. Round by the bear's house then down the cliffs to the wharf say "hey" to the sealions race with the gulls all the way back to the asrama. A couple of teams out today, but mostly it's beach crusiers and people doing errands.
Here come the judge,i remember that one each Saturday night when i dress them for rest. Yeah, it was another Gaura Purnima when this dress was offered along with a curly wig for Mahaprabhu which brought to mind the British judges dancing accross the stage.

"This is for Gandharvika, it's a medalion rose" someone told me today. "It's to put in her hand, but in this outfit she probably should hold it in her teeth." i'd never thought of this as a Spanish type dress, but this person did. The green and black made me think of going to the Seva Asrama and asking if the arati was starting on time.
All at once pedaling today. i had just passed the hospital parking lot and was waiting on the light when a motorcycle pulled up next to me with the sighting of the day. His helmet had horns and a tail. i didn't want to ask, but i figgured he must have been the devil. The light changed and we took off in our own ways he toward the highway and i went on making a turn at an appliance repair shop, breathing a little heavy as i passed the neighbhorhood school tight roping through the heavy traffic saying hari hari bol all the way home
Dressing them in the night dress that was a micacle for the speed it was made with. It shows that it's one of the original patterns Giridhari's pants aren't quite right. They seem to fasten backward, but with practice no one has noticed.

Superstar! Right you are, Mahaprabhu is a superstar. This pink and silver dress shows that with a bracelet with a star on it. After Guru Maharaja disappeared the Deities wore all white and though today there is pink mixed in, the biggest portion seems to be white. A plan? Weeelllll not of mine, but who knows who really plans these things.
Over the highway and by the woods the typical pedal is where i go. There are less and less of woods now. How long before the bumper sticker that says "Trees don't grow on money either" becomes the dominant paradyme?
The sighting today was two guys and a lady pedaling together. They didn't seem to be avid pedalers but all have that potential. i heard one say to the other as we waited on a light, "You sailed right through the last light" The lady answered "I learned that from you" i think she might not have wanted to sound bad. "That's a cyclists dream"
Some of Krsna's devotees were searching for him. They asked everyone they saw "have you seen Krsna?" In that way all the living beings were questioned but they were all to stunded and thus gave no answer. That was being read in the morning class the day it was offered and the speaker spelled out each word so we would know what was being spoken of.

The Madhuvrata, the honey bee. The dark moon dress since it features bumble bees. The last holiday the Deities were given some black onyx necklaces which look the best with this one. Today is Guru Maharaja's disappearance, when Srimati Radharani called him back. That day SGM said he had never seen the Deities so effulgent.
Today pedalers were out in force. A threederful day for it. The usual trace from the opal cliffs to the shoppers corner on the seabright past the harbor to the stretch and back to the asrama for the celebration. The sighting of the day was when i came upon a bmw with a yin-yang and peace symbol flanking the manufacturer's trade mark and found the driver to be one of the families of the group.
Pralad-a-dad. An orange dress in which Gandharvika has a pannel skirt. Giridhari has a cumberbund while Mahaprabhu has a simple sash. They'll go out dancing the pastimes of the divine.

Monday, July 24, 2006

The garlands were in suspended animation today. As soon as i touched them they fell apart. i think i've put this dress on them the same way each time they've worn it, except for maybe the Janmastami that it was offered on. Oh well, it must be true, you can't have it your way.
To the sunny cove. Then back around the asrama to the buttery around back to the wharf via the beach and the tennis court and soccer field park. The peace officer turning right on a red light directly in front of a sign that said "no turn on red"
The greatful dvipa. With the preparation for the festival tomorrow going on untilit came time to lock the doors. They wanted to take rest early enough to be able to be part of the ceremony the next day.

Sunday, July 23, 2006

Gardenias again today. Oh how they perfume the whole temple.
Gandharvika has a beautiful blue sari.
Giridhari has yellow and purple sash with chodder.
Mahaprabhu has mango with green sash and chodder.
How much difference does having the hair set make?
One person brought a necklace with matching earrings they’re that deep blue with
white. Otherwise one of our locals made the jewelry for the dress.
Past the mansion of one of our doctor members It’s so prominent.
By the college on to the cement boat. Back to the clock tower on the way
to marine project that’s open to the public.
Not quite time for the monarch still today’s pedaling took me past their
nesting pleace.
A large truck with the words ‘one with tigger’ was the most interesting thingn
And there we are in the ninth with Guru Maharaja’s disappearance looming.
The arama kukura has been camping by the altar door but isn’t talking when i ask
‘what’s wrong?’
Perhaps the kukura is looking out for them when they go out for an evening of dancing.

Saturday, July 22, 2006

"There are 108 of those little red flowers" the garland maker told me with a big smile today. The garlands did go so well with the fine satiny Havirbhu dress today. A new jewelry combination too. More green and pink both of which are in the delicate print on the cloth. The appliques have bells on the bottom.
A very hot day hard for pedaling, but the faithful were out there. On Seabright and the bridge over the harbor. Folks who had been swimming along with people who were just on their way to or from a beach party. The funniest sight of the day was a pedaler going down the street with her cellphone to her ear and still pedaling full speed ahead.
As each Saturday night finds the most blessed event is to see the Deities lay down in their beds. This evening i had to sweep a spider off the altar too. They were ready for the night after that.

Friday, July 21, 2006

Gold and yellow daisies in Gandharvika's hair today. They went nicely with the pink sari with a little hint of purple and green. Mahaprabhu's dhoti and kirta were the same cloth as Gandharvika's sari while Giridhari has a purple coat and even though it's a little heavy he still wore it today. His dhoti is pink with little bits of green also but different cloth than Mahaprabhu and Gandharvika. He also has a turban with a necklace of pearls scalloped on his right side. The garlands had the wild flower potency again today. The best kind of garlands.
Oh shut up kid.
From the asrama straight down to the light where the hospital is. Take the left to the next light and then down through the harbor past the bike shop. Then back to the tennis and soccer park to the opal cliff. Along the coast back to the railroad bridge at the boardwalk then to the lighting shop and back to the asrama. The odd sighting of the day was uncle sam urging people to patronize a pizza shop.
Copper and purple night dress tonight. It's begining to fray but i'm sure it will last for at least until the next new outfit day when a night dress could be offered.

Thursday, July 20, 2006

The gardenias once again have shown themselves. It was the second ekadasi day of this month so They wore Their rainbow dress. Each color of the rainbow is there. Giridhari has a violet chodder with yellow and green flowers on it. Mahaprabhu has an blue dhoti with red kirta. Gandharvika has the rest of the colors. That is indigo sequins on her orange skirt. The peacock crowns and effulgences top it off. Jewelry made for the puspa abhiseka a few years ago.
Not so many teams out training today. i only saw one today. The fog was there to take away the heat. Geese were crossing the road between the twin lakes. Not so many people on the beach today. At the sunny cove the peace officers were inviting a few people over for tea. The most interesting sight of the day would have to go to the sticker on a bike i saw parked at a health food store that read "bike and destroy". perhaps from the radicals i saw a month or so ago who shouted slogans like "If you pedal you will save the world"
A quieter night for the Deities. The apprentice went home early. They wear the lion on the chase this evening. It's mostly purple with green accents. Giridhari's coat flows full, but it's not to hot and heavy. Mahaprabhu and Gandharvika's dresses are very light. Good for the warm summer nights.

Wednesday, July 19, 2006

The wild flowers gave way to carnations today. The aruna har posse rides again today. The krsna navami, the ninth day of the wanning moon. One person in China had a few pictures of the Deities here. She used them to paint a picture of Them. She chose the dress they are wearing today as the one for her painting. Now on their altar in China that has become the worshipable picture. Amazing how the Deities reach to all corners of the world.
Many teams out training today. As i pedaled along i saw five of them. All were at different places so i'm sure they weren't in some kind of related excersize. At the shopper's corner today there was a family on beach crusiers waiting to cross. The road that the asrama is on had the fastest team on it. For a midweek day there were lots of people on the beach with bonfires ready to be lit. One pedaler had both a guitar and a surf board straped to his saddle. He had to have taken the prize today for the most unusual sight.
The apprentice was here this evening. He undressed the big Deities and took the jewelry off the small ones. The lotus nails. He thought the name is "the lions nails." i told him it was offered on Nrsingha's appearance day but the lord killed Hiranya Kasipu with his lotus nails. And even though they are lion's nails i chose the lotus ones to name the dress.

Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Nothing up my sleeve is the name of this one. Mahaprabhu and Giridhari have vests instead of kirtas. Gandharvika has a yellow choli and veil to go with the deep red purple skirt. This was a Radhastami outfit of about four years ago. It's good for the hot days of summer. The garlands today were of the flowers from the land again. The best kind.
Down and back and round about. That was how i pedaled today. The beach crusiers were out in force today. Pink ones, blue ones, cheap ones and spendy ones. A couple of "mini motorcycles" went by. The e bikes are around too. Sea breezes and a bit of fog quite good to beat the heat today.
The night dress might be a little warm for this kind of night. Maybe if they go out for the evening though it might be just right for the cool of the evening.

Monday, July 17, 2006

A simple monatika for Gandharvika's hair today. Giridhari had his amazing chodder while Mahaprabhu has a kirta that has almost the same colors as the chodder. Gandharvika wears a sky blue with red and green jewels. An early outfit and the first one where Gandharvika's veil was part of her skirt. The familiar dresses like this one don't fuss about how they get put on, they know how they go and cooperate.
Pedaling in a different way today. Starting toward the swami's post office then along the coast watching the waves rolling in. Not so many people out today since it's Monday. Rapidly to the sufferer's statue. A fresh garland today. The light house was also kind of quiet. On to the natural bridge and then to retrace my tracks back to the asrama. When i stopped for a few minutes i saw what looked to be another Rivendellian. The flat pedals and Nito stem were clues. i didn't get to meet the pedaler so i just hypothesised.
The greatful dvip this evening another of the familiar dresses so they got off to rest with no problem.

Sunday, July 16, 2006

Did you see Gandharivka's hair today? That was a question the folks asked each other throught the day. There were leaves and flowers on either side of a butterfly beret which was in the center of her hair. The garlands were fluffy full again today. Mahaprabhu and Gandharivka have mostly green with yellow chodder and sash for Mahaprabhu and yellow choli for Gandharvika. Giridhari has all yellow except for a green belt.
Pedaling along in the late evening racing with the darkness. Some how i was able to time it just right to make it back as the last rays of light were there. Flashing tail lights of other pedalers reminisent of the fall and winter. Through the hospital parking lot past a flower market where a man sits all day long every day of the week. He waves at selected car drivers and shouts greetings to pedestrains. Also there were people leaving a flea market with treasures they'd aquired there.
The touch that kills. That chinese silk of red and creme. Some one asked me for a garland. They were overjoyed when i handed them one. Several years my junior, i think they addressed me as "sir" i thought "i'm not a knight or anything, just use my name" i don't know how Gandharvika will rest with her decoration but i'm sure it will all be fine.

Saturday, July 15, 2006

"What day is it?" Someone asked me today."Giridhari is wearing white, it's Saturday" i replied. "How could i not have known that?" Yeah this one calls me on and on across the universe. Made for vyasa puja a couple of years ago. A turban for Giridhari and gold rhinestones for Mahaprabhu and Gandharvika. The garlands were exceptional today. Fluffy style of the days of old.
A hot afternoon gave way to a foggy and chilly evening. Good pedaling weather. Some out on tandems, some with trailors, some try e-crusiers, i can't understand. But all pedalers are wonderfuly unique. The fog thickend near the beach where there were people jogging, suffering, and vollyball.
But inspite of it all, putting the Deities to bed is the most blessed event on Saturday evening.

Friday, July 14, 2006

Three different crowns today. This the only dress that features that. Yellow and blue combine as green. Giridhari in yellow dhoti and purple coat that flairs up and swrils with his yellow chodder while Gandharvika has blue and silvery gold sari. On Gaura Purnima we celebrate them combining as Mahaprabhu who has green in this outfit. Kind of poetically works out.
A double today. Around the southern portion of the road to the asrama. Going back to wake the Deities i pedaled past a recumbent who was huffing a bit. Later with the Deities awake i went straight down to the post office and then on to the closing grocery. Round back by a skateboard shop then through the harbor and twin lakes. On to the opal cliff and back once again for the sandhya arati
Dressing them for rest, what a way to end the day. Tonightit was the dress that some folks say "I can't belive it's not butter" should have been the name but i could only tell them lies about the real name/

Thursday, July 13, 2006

"Wow, They look like candy!" Someone said as i showed someone else how this dress is called the oldest of all but in a new dress. "Candy?" i asked. "Yes, they look like something I'd like to eat". Maybe it was the gardenia and red rose garlands. Perhaps that reminded her of a candy cane or something i don't know. i let it go at that.
As i was going along the road of the asrama posting signs telling about our lost dog, i came upon a house where he was hold up. The people there said "We should have known he was from the asrama.." i got the dog to follow me back to the asrama and then went on by the coast. From the pleasure point to the natural bridge. Along the way i stopped in at the house of the people that gave the dog to the asrama. They came and took him back with them. i don't know how long they'll keep him but they've got him once again. Then i continued on through the sea gulls and sea lions. There was a rock near the bridge where about twenty were congregated. i marveled for a minute or two as i drifted past. Over the railroad bridge past the ebike shop, the copy shop and the drop in center back up the road to harley davidson straight on to the asrama for the sandhya.
Tonight i saw Vraja kissing Santa Claus. i dressed them while i finished the milk sweets. This one is a quick dress so they were happy i got them in bed promptly.

Wednesday, July 12, 2006

The white knight certainly was talking backward today. The dhotis were corrected before it was offered. The garlands were fluffy carnation type. Giridhari's had a knee tickler. It was purple and white. Mahaprabhu and Gandharvika had red along with purple and yellow.
Oh where has our asrama dog gone? Just where do think he might be? Has he gone up into the hill behind the temple? Or is he down the road at the locatelli farm? i pedaled down to those places plue to his once upon a house on May. No where could i find him. i went on to the usual natural bridge then the boardwalk past the steamer's alley. He just wasn't to be seen. There were plenty of other pedalers though. Some are buff and some are thin and some will even ask you "how've you been?" One such pedaler asked if i pedaled all the time and so i told him that the last time i'd used a different form of transportation Gerald Ford was the president of the United States.
O deer doe, have you seen Krsna pass this way? Krsna's highest devotees made that inquiry once while engaged in their search for reality the beautiful. Of course that also means that the Deities are wearing mint green and silver tonight and that they each have a sivler chain and earrings too.
This purnima featured the true value of a silk turban. Gandharvika's skirt has a unique fastening system. The seamstress thought it would be easier but even after five years i still can't understand it. A Janmastami dress, the first time Giridhari wore a turban. All the folks favor Krsna with a turban. Srila Prabhupada told us boys in Chicago in seventy-five that turbans are to intimate though and Giridhari should have a crown most of the time.
From the seva asrama past the oreintal flower booth up a hill winding around the whaler's car wash back down through the shopping precienct toward the beach along the trace round by spinner's church laughing as i was passing a rasta man with his dred locks flying in the breeze a grocery bag on his arm and a skateboard on his handlebar. Wow. Drifting across "her company" "her land" and a blues club featuring an open michelle. By the dream inn and return to the asrama. On the road back i saw a couple of deer who looked at me as i went between them. Then they turned to each other and one spoke "There's something you don't see everyday" "What's that?" the second asked. "A boy on a small horse with round legs"
The orange Pralad-a-dad this evening. Dressing them and cooking sweets at the same time. Finish them then picking flowers for arati. Then calling it a day.

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Yudhisthira and the evil sukuni. The one and only dress name the seamstress let stand without translation. It's a simple red and purple. Giridhari has a belt that hangs down the front pleat of his dhoti. Mahaprabhu's outfit is usual dhoti kirta and chodder, along with a red sash. It allows for a lot of jewelry experiment since it's all kind of plain. The two peacocks on Gandharvika's palo were almost visible, if you knew what to look for.
A quick dash today. The traffic was a little light and so i pedaled almost alone. From the coast to the hong kong fast food resturant, where they use organic produce because they love your body. Then making the turn back to the asrama. The kirtan leader said when he saw me "I thought I had ten more minutes" i let it go as if i hadn't heard.
i was just greatful that i could help the Deities into that night dress, the greatful dvipa. A different belt for Giridhari this evening. Somehow the usual one disappeared. Maybe he was tired of wearing it so much. Whatever, he got a different one tonight.

Sunday, July 09, 2006

A return to fresh garlands for the small deities today. After the maker returned from a visit with family. The big Deities today had the mango of Mahaprabhu, the yellow of Giridhari and a blue that Gandharvika would choose for herself. Simple yellow carnation garlands for the big Deities. Still a wonderful outfit
A quick early run today. Many families out pedaling today. i didn't see any team trainers today. Mostly families and beach crusiers. Since it was a bit earlier today there was no fog like yesterday.
There i was dressing them in the ninth. The evening program featured a heartfelt lecture about the program in China, where one day, he said there will be a full on Math.

Saturday, July 08, 2006

"Is this a new dress? I think it is" Someone asked me this morning. "Of course" i answered with a quick wink and smile to another there who knew better. "Was it for Janmastami?" "Yes" "When was that?" "Three years ago" "I've not seen this one before" "The all star game is next week too, maybe they need someone to work behind the plate" i said not able to contain my laughter. Several times Mahaprabhu has appeared in this deep blue alongside Giridhari in his yellow with red and blue jewels and Gandharvika in her flame grape colored sari. It was a short one so the slip was made extra long and decorated to compinsate.
"I'm going to get you a cell phone" one person said. "So when you come back late like this I can know where you are!" "Sorry" was all i could say. The pedaling was fast and furious through the fog by the beach but since so was the fatigue. As i came back up the road to the asrama i could see that the fog had not yet arrived here. He probably won't really get me a cell phone. And i don't think i'll be late that often anyway.
As always the most blessed event in all this is helping the Deities on with their night dress. A lot less hectic this evening. It all went quite quietly

Friday, July 07, 2006

The velvet coat that Giridhari wears with today's dress just wouldn't let me putit on him today. A rare day indeed. So i was directed to Friday the thirteenth/ Chipmonks. There was a purple vest and cumberbund that he hardly ever wears. Today, though, he wanted that instead of the coat. He even brought the seamstress down to see him in it. Haven't heard what she thought. No one else said anything. How could they not have noticed?
Another trip to the bhajan kutir of the apprentice. A simiiar jaunt from the asrama to the shopper's corner. Instead of turning there and heading for home, the old left hander went on into and through the town. Then on past the spinner's church to the bend in the road where the kutir is located. i only had time for a joke or two and to refill my water bottle and then it was back for the sandhya arati.
Cooking sweet rice and burfi while i helped the Deities into their night dress. Take off their day clothes then run to the stove and give a stir back to the altar and help Gandharvika on with her skirt and choli and Giridhari with his dhoti. Another stir. Mahaprabhu was waiting on the altar and so i took care of him. Back for another stir. To the altar where Gandharvika's veil, crown ear and nose rings followed. Finish the burfi and wash the pot. Gridhari next with his kirta, dancing skirt and chodder. Invite them and put them in their beds, sweep and wash the floor. The sweet rice is calling to be taken off the flame. Wash the pot and turn out the lights.

The day of Sri Hari, Ekadasi. The cape and all the accompaniements. Their hair was styled very well today, welcome, since it hasn't been done since Saturday. The garlands are made with flowers from the asrama land. Those kind are always the best. Their maker lamented that they didn't match the dress, but when using the ones growing on the land they might not.
All along the coast today. Opal cliff to the natural bridge and return. Since the folks are back at work after the holiday not too many pedalers or cars. The unique sight of the day was a father and daughter combination. She is young enough to be riding on one of the things that attach to the dad's bike and allow her to pedal in step with him and not fall behind. One pedaler got an honorable mention with fins on his helmet. i hadn't seen that in a while. Usually that kind of sight is reserved for charity rides. Maybe a tie between the two.
The night dress is very simple. i suppose that's part of the secret to getting it done in such quick time. Giridhari's outfit is the most complex. It features a long coat that lifts with a boarder that flowes into the boarder on Gandharvika's sari and the plainness of Mahaprabhu's chodder. With that it opens in front to show his creamy gold pants. Otherwise various shades of purple are the dominant colors.

Wednesday, July 05, 2006

The seamstress tells me that this t-rock dress pink and purple. i thought it looked more like red. So as a consession to her more educated opinion i put it on on Wednesday when the Deities wear pink. The apprentice put on the garlands during the noon offering while i cooked capatis. Their hair hasn't been nicely set since Saturday maybe tomorrow.....
Down to get the swami's post. Down to the apprentice's bhajan kutir to see the San Diego panda camera. The panda was in the midst of eats, shoots and leaves. Then back along the beach where the big dipper roller coaster is along with the rest of Neptune's kingdom and the boardwalk. Across the railroad bridge back on to the road past the tennis park. Over the intersection where the gym that is a favorite to the folks here round the corner at the jade park and back to the asrama
Where the apprentice helped dress the Deities in their Lotus Nails night dress. There was a bug outside the door to the altar. He shrieeeeked to see it and when i knocked it off the screen he jumped high.

Tuesday, July 04, 2006

Hurah for the red, white and blue. One person thought that should have been the name for this dress. But as i've probably said before it's not. They wore it today by coincindince. Had i thought about it when i made the schedule i wouldn't have done it that way. Maybe that's one up to Krsna's arrangement. There isn't really any white in it, really there's only red, blue and silver. The blue is a sky blue not quite the deep blue usually refered to. And the silver is light enough that from a distance it might look white buti don't see it, maybe that's cause i know it's not white.
Today was quite strange for pedaling. i don't think i've seen so few people on the roads in a long time. i could count the headlights on main street on my fingers. People were congregated around stores, beaches, and fire water shops. i pedaled by a large number of block parties. People in the streets dancing and swaying to live bands. Seemed to be one on each block. One place some young children came up to each car and said "Honk your horn!!!!!" As i pedaled by they said "Ring your bell!!" Alas this craft hasn't got a bell.
Tonight was a meeting of the lions club. Giridhari allowed me to not forget his jewelry. A night dress that's held up well over the years. The small Radha and Krsna and Mahaprabhu's version of this one was getting bad enough that it was retired two or three years ago. But Gandharvika Giridhari's is still in fine shape.

Monday, July 03, 2006

Today's outfit was offered on Radhastami a few years ago. It features Giridhari and Mahaprabhu in vests and no kirtas. Gandharvika's skirt has jari between pannels and appliques in each one. Giridhari has a red dhoti and Mahaprabhu's is purple. The date of that Radhastami became the name of the dress, just to kind of poke some fun at the seamstress who would give each dress the name of the holiday it was offered on. The date was Friday, the thirteenth of September.
Lots of beach crusiers on the road today. One of the more popular models of pedals here. It must remind the folks of how they pedaled as children, not so intimidating as more sophisticated road or mountain styles. In such a quick today i no time to pay attention to the geese or people and places as i past, all i could think of was the smiling faces of the Deities and getting back in time for the arati. whew, i made it but with not a moment to spare.
The blue and orange night dress went on while one of the young people finished their rounds outside. A dofferent belt for Gandharvika this evening. The old jari one has come to it's end. So it was replaced with one made of looping gold chains meeting in a round broch as the center.

Sunday, July 02, 2006

The tulasi skirt for this dress was made from more costly silk than the Deites clothes. Even with the bells on Gandharvika's skirt, the ruffles in her sari, Giridhari's shiffon chodder. This was a Radhastami offering. Gandharvika's belt is just a touch big but works all the same. Today's garlands were long and light. Their hair was done well and the topknots and the crowns got along fine, that is unlike yesterday when Giridhari's crown had to be put on low on his forehead.
The holiday weekend has many pedalers out. Many non-locals so there is some indecision about the direction they want to go and all. Avoiding the beaches the pedaling is quiet and quick. To near the beach at the wrong time and there is much traffic to contend with.
The touch that kills. The chinese silk that swirls and dances so easily it's effortless to dress them.

The white rabbit of Nadiya. A ganga-yamuna dress. Gandharvika's skirt comes up on her left side. A few inches off center. Her belt also fits that way. Someone thought that was put on wrong but that is the way the seamstress designed it. Giridhari has a cumberbund that is put on beneath his vest. i suppose it's to be seen through the lace of the vest. Mahaprabhu was supposed to have rope like belt but it just wouldn't fit so he has a more normal sash.
The sun was out today so there were many pedalers taking the opportunity to spin along the opal cliff, the boardwalk, the lighthouse park and the murti of the sufferer. The murti had a new garland on today. Some would use that as an example of idolitry. The sufferer stands with no shelter and must allow sea gulls and such to land, stand in the rain and sun, the cold and heat. Then when the spirit moves whoever the sufferer gets a new garland and perhaps gets cleaned. hmmmmmmm. After that the pedalers followed the road to the natural bridge and then back to the asrama via the mission street featuring the mission school, the clock tower, the motorcycle shop and such.
As usual the most blessed event is to come in to help the Lord into his night dress, clean the altar and put him into bed. Perhaps he only lies down for the moment or two that i remain butat least i see that he's safe in his bed.
